Set up Android TV Home with Launcher Manager

Use Launcher Manager as the optional Android TV / Google TV Home-button method, with a clear route back to the original launcher.

Before you start

  • Install TVApplaunchЯ and Launcher Manager on the Android TV or Google TV device.
  • Be able to open Launcher Manager from Apps or TV Settings before changing the Home launcher.
  1. Install Launcher Manager

On Android TV or Google TV, open Downloader and enter 1178907, or open Squiffix → Transfer Apps → Receive, enter 449713, and select Fetch. Check the returned app details are Launcher Manager, choose Normal Installer, and approve Android’s install prompts.

You can also use the Launcher Manager download on the installation page, or on supported sideload builds open TVApplaunchЯ → Settings → LAUNCHER MANAGER → DOWNLOAD & INSTALL LAUNCHER MANAGER. The TV asks you to confirm installation.

Installing Launcher Manager alone does not change the Home app. It is a separate utility, not the Fire TV Home & Menu setup.

  2. Turn on TV debugging

Open TV Settings → System or Device Preferences → About → Build (sometimes Android TV OS build). Press OK seven times to unlock Developer options.

Return to Developer options and enable ADB debugging or Network debugging; some devices call it Wireless debugging. Follow any on-screen pairing prompt if the TV requires pairing from another device.

  3. Select TVApplaunchЯ and test

Open Launcher Manager from the TV Apps list and approve its debugging prompt. In Launcher Manager, choose Enable Custom Launcher and select TVApplaunchЯ if asked.

Press Home on the remote and check that TVApplaunchЯ opens. A successful selection in Launcher Manager is not proof that every manufacturer routes the physical remote button the same way.

  4. Restore the original Home screen

From TVApplaunchЯ, open All Apps → Launcher Manager. If it is not listed, find Launcher Manager under TV Settings → Apps and choose Open if offered.

In Launcher Manager choose Disable Custom Launcher. Approve any debugging prompt, then press Home and confirm that the TV’s original Home screen opens.

Only after original Home works, turn off ADB / Network debugging in Developer options. Do not uninstall Launcher Manager before restoring the original Home launcher.

Good to know
  • This method is optional and device-dependent, not a compatibility guarantee. If Launcher Manager cannot connect or the original Home screen does not return, stop and use the TV’s available settings or recovery route before uninstalling anything.
  • Keep a way to open Launcher Manager from Apps. Disabling the stock launcher can otherwise leave you without the expected Home screen.
