Method 01 / TV remote

Use Downloader

Install and open the Downloader app on your Fire TV or Android TV.
Enter 3679028 in its URL field and select Go to download the official TVApplaunchЯ APK.
If asked, allow Install unknown apps for Downloader. Choose Install when the APK opens, then launch TVApplaunchЯ from your TV's Apps list.

Method 02 / TV remote

Use Squiffix

Get Squiffix from the app store on your TV and open it.
Choose Transfer, enter 986416, and download TVApplaunchЯ.
If asked, allow Install unknown apps for Squiffix, then open the APK and choose Install. You can turn this permission off afterwards.

Method 03 / No computer

Transfer the APK from your phone

Download the APK above onto your phone. Put your phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi network, transfer the file with a trusted app that supports your TV, then open it on the TV with a file manager.
When prompted, allow Install unknown apps for the file manager or transfer app you used. On many Android TVs this is under Settings → Apps → Special app access; Fire TV may show it under My Fire TV → Developer Options. Menu names vary by model.
Open the APK, choose Install, then find TVApplaunchЯ in your TV's Apps list. You can turn the unknown-app permission off afterwards.

Method 04 / Computer + ADB

Install on a Fire TV Stick over Wi-Fi

Download the APK above onto your computer. Install Google's Android SDK Platform Tools and put TVApplaunchr.apk in the folder where you will run ADB.
On the Stick, open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and switch ADB Debugging on. If Developer Options is hidden, go to My Fire TV → About, select your device name seven times, then return. Find the Stick's IP under My Fire TV → About → Network.
Connect your computer to the same network. Replace FIRE_TV_IP with the displayed IP address and run:

adb connect FIRE_TV_IP:5555
adb devices
adb install -r TVApplaunchr.apk

Approve the debugging prompt on the TV before installing. If you saved the APK elsewhere, replace TVApplaunchr.apk with its full path. Open TVApplaunchЯ from Your Apps & Channels after installation.

After installation

Choose how Home works

On Android TV / Google TV, open TVApplaunchЯ from Apps. For optional Home-button setup, follow the Launcher Manager instructions below; compatibility varies by TV.

Fire TV does not offer ordinary apps the same Home-app choice. The optional Fire TV Home & Menu setup below redirects when Amazon Home appears; it does not remove or replace Amazon's launcher.

Open TVApplaunchЯ and start with Free. If you purchased Pro, select Launcher Settings → Upgrade to Pro (or Upgrade to Pro on Home), then choose Enter Activation Code and enter your code.

Optional / Fire TV Home & Menu

One-time ADB permission

On an Android-based Fire TV Stick, use an external device on the same Wi-Fi. With ADB Debugging on, connect to the Stick's IP on port 5555 and approve the TV prompt. From an Android phone, a trusted ADB client with a remote shell can do this without a PC (the app suggests Bugjaeger). Run this inside the phone's remote shell:

pm grant com.applaunchr.tvlauncher android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Computer without a terminal: Follow the Squiffix Desktop Bridge guide ↗ to set up the Bridge and Google Platform Tools, connect to your Fire TV, and approve its ADB prompt. If the saved TVApplaunchЯ Home-button permission command is available, review it before running it. Otherwise enter the command above in the Bridge without an adb shell prefix. The website does not run commands; the local Bridge does.

From a computer that is already connected with ADB, run instead:

adb shell pm grant com.applaunchr.tvlauncher android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Then open TVApplaunchЯ → Settings → Fire TV Home & Menu, select Enable TVApplaunchЯ Service, wait for SERVICE READY, and turn on Home Button → TVApplaunchЯ. Test it by opening another app and pressing Home. Hold Menu is a separate optional switch. Turn ADB Debugging off after setup.

Launcher Manager for the Home button

Launcher Manager lets you select TVApplaunchЯ for the Home button on supported Android TV and Google TV devices. This is not the Fire TV setup.

Set up the Home button

Install, turn on debugging, select TVApplaunchЯ

On your Android TV or Google TV, enter 1178907 in Downloader or 449713 in Squiffix to get Launcher Manager. You can also use the download link above or TVApplaunchЯ → Settings → Launcher Manager → Download & Install in the sideload build. Approve the TV's installation prompts.
On your TV open Settings → System / Device Preferences → About → Build (sometimes Android TV OS build). Press OK seven times to unlock Developer options. Go back to Developer options and turn on ADB debugging or Network debugging (sometimes called Wireless debugging).
Open Launcher Manager from your TV's Apps list and approve any debugging prompt. Some TVs need pairing from a phone or computer; if connection fails, stop here.
In Launcher Manager, choose Enable Custom Launcher and select TVApplaunchЯ when prompted. Press Home to check it works.

Restore your TV's original Home

From TVApplaunchЯ, open All Apps → Launcher Manager. If it isn't listed, find Launcher Manager in TV Settings → Apps and choose Open if offered.
Choose Disable Custom Launcher in Launcher Manager. Approve any debugging prompt, then press Home to check your TV's original screen opens.
Once original Home works, turn off ADB / Network debugging in Developer options. Do not uninstall Launcher Manager before restoring original Home.

Important: The ADB grant is a broad system permission. Only grant it to an APK you trust. Fire OS 7/8 behavior varies by device and firmware: Amazon Home may flash, and the Menu shortcut may not work on every remote. The redirect is optional and reversible in the app; do not rely on it as your only way to reach device settings. A Fire TV Stick cannot reliably grant this permission to itself.

ADB cannot connect: confirm the Stick's IP, that both devices are on the same network, ADB Debugging is on, and the authorization prompt was accepted on the TV.
“Update incompatible” or signing error: the installed app was signed with a different certificate. Do not uninstall it to force an update: that would delete its local settings. Ask for an update signed with the original key.
Home still opens Amazon's launcher: check the TV app says SERVICE READY and the Home switch is on. Some firmware prevents reliable redirecting; TVApplaunchЯ still works as a normal app.
