Troubleshoot Home-button setup and Pro activation

Check the right Home setup for your TV platform, restore a safe Home route, and resolve common activation or recovery issues.

  1. Identify the TV Home setup before changing settings

For Android TV / Google TV, the optional Home-button method in these guides is Launcher Manager. Confirm it opens from Apps before using Enable Custom Launcher, and keep its Disable Custom Launcher restore instructions available.

For Fire TV, open TVApplaunchЯ → Settings → FIRE TV HOME & MENU. Fire controls require Android 9 or newer; Fire OS 6 and Vega OS cannot use them. Do not use Fire instructions on Android TV or Launcher Manager steps on Fire TV.

  2. If Home still opens the TV’s original launcher

On Android TV / Google TV, open Launcher Manager from Apps and check that Enable Custom Launcher selected TVApplaunchЯ. Press Home on the physical remote to test; a selection or success message does not guarantee the remote is routed the same way on every manufacturer’s firmware.

If the original Home screen does not work as expected after changing it, reopen Launcher Manager and choose Disable Custom Launcher, then verify original Home before uninstalling Launcher Manager.

On Fire TV, check that TVAPPLAUNCHЯ SERVICE is enabled and reports SERVICE READY before turning on HOME BUTTON → TVAPPLAUNCHЯ. The Menu shortcut is separately controlled by HOLD MENU → TVAPPLAUNCHЯ. Turn both off with TURN OFF HOME & MENU if behavior is unreliable.

  3. If Pro activation fails

Check that the TV has internet access, re-enter the private code carefully, and select ACTIVATE WITH OK. The license screen needs tvapplaunchr.com to validate a code; the app reports a connection failure explicitly when the service cannot be reached.

Choose CHECK LICENSE to validate the current Pro status again. If the code is reported invalid, compare it with the code saved after purchase rather than posting it publicly.

  4. Recover a code or ask for help

If you previously added and verified a recovery email, request code recovery at /recover and follow the page’s prompts. An email that was entered but not verified is not a confirmed recovery address.

For account or device help visit /support. Pro support asks for the activation code; enter it only on the official support page or app and do not put it in a public post.

Good to know
  • Fire TV Home behavior can vary by firmware, and Amazon Home may flash briefly. Do not rely on Home redirection as the only route to device settings.
  • Turning off Pro on one TV does not cancel a purchase or sign out other TVs. Local profile data remains on the TV when it returns to Free.
