Send only a wallpaper to one TV
Queue a still or video wallpaper for one selected TV without saving or replacing the full website layout.
Before you start
- Sign in to Studio and select the exact TV that should receive the wallpaper.
- Have an available still-image or MP4 wallpaper in the asset library and select it in the website draft.
- Use the currently hosted signed sideload APK 1.3.28 (code 67), which includes “CHECK STUDIO UPDATES”. Older installed sideload releases may not support this command; check your installed version and edition before following these instructions.
Select the target TV and one wallpaper
In Studio, confirm the “Selected TV · app list, backup and wallpaper-update target” field names the TV you intend to change.
Open the “Wallpaper” tab and choose an item in “Still images” or “Animated loops”. A slideshow cannot be sent with this shortcut; select one still image or video instead.
If selecting a single image asks to stop a draft slideshow, accept only if you want that change in the website draft. It still does not change the TV.
Queue the wallpaper-only command
In the “Wallpaper only · separate from the full layout” panel, check the selected wallpaper and choose “Send wallpaper only to selected TV”. This queues a command for that selected device.
This is an explicit send. It does not save the full website layout, import anything on the TV, or change the draft’s apps, favourites, rows, colors, other preferences, or the account backup.
Start the check on the TV
On the currently hosted signed sideload APK 1.3.28 (code 67), open Settings → “DEVICE SYNC” → “WEBSITE SYNC & BACKUP” and choose “CHECK STUDIO UPDATES”. This manually retrieves and applies a queued wallpaper-only command to the active profile without a separate apply confirmation; no layout, font, colour, or other profile settings are changed, and it does not apply the full website layout.
There is no background polling: a queued wallpaper waits until someone starts “CHECK STUDIO UPDATES” on the TV. Older installed sideload APK 1.3.27 does not support wallpaper-only commands and uses “DOWNLOAD SAVED STUDIO LAYOUT” for full-layout downloads.
If a new wallpaper command and a saved full layout are both waiting on sideload APK 1.3.28, the first check applies the wallpaper and stops before loading the layout. Follow the TV message and choose “CHECK STUDIO UPDATES” a second time to load and review the full layout; choose “APPLY TO THIS TV” only if you want those full-layout changes.
The same check action fetches the saved full layout when there is no newly applied wallpaper command. These steps describe the hosted sideload release; the controls and wallpaper-command support in your installed Play version may differ.
- The command supports one still or video wallpaper, not a slideshow. Choose “Save website layout” separately if you also want the draft wallpaper and other layout edits in the shared website layout.
- Deleting an asset that a queued wallpaper-only update references cancels that pending update. A wallpaper already downloaded to the TV remains there.
- The currently hosted signed sideload APK 1.3.28 (code 67) uses “CHECK STUDIO UPDATES” for both wallpaper-only commands and full-layout checks. Older installed sideload APK 1.3.27 uses “DOWNLOAD SAVED STUDIO LAYOUT” and has no wallpaper-only command. These steps describe the sideload edition; check your installed Play version for its available controls.
