Set Home, weather, and TV preferences
Find the real Studio controls for Home layout, clock, weather, location, shortcuts, and row behavior—and preserve the current TV value when needed.
Open the relevant control from the preview
On Layout, click “Home header” on the preview for header style, branding size, clock, clock format, date, greeting, and Home button size.
Click the “Weather” preview panel to set weather visibility, Celsius or Fahrenheit, and location. Location can be “Keep TV location”, “Clear city (choose on TV)”, or a custom city name.
Click the Home rows/buttons area for All apps, Edit Home, System settings, Recently installed, TV inputs, row spacing, row titles, Favourites/Recent labels, Recent visibility, TV banners/app icons, and artwork size.
Click an individual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Profiles, or Search shortcut to set whether it stays as currently configured, is shown, or is hidden. Click the Preview channels strip to change its visibility or position.
Below the preview, “Home layout” offers Rows, Grid, and Dock. When Dock is selected, use “Dock row” to choose which draft row is pinned.
Choose “Keep TV setting” when the website should not decide
Where offered, leave a choice at “Keep TV setting” or use the nearby “Keep TV setting” action. On save and apply, an unset value leaves that receiving TV’s current setting unchanged.
Weather location has three distinct choices: “Keep TV location” does not send a new location; “Clear city (choose on TV)” removes the saved city so a city can be chosen on the TV; “Custom city” lets you enter a city name (up to 80 characters). The TV has no automatic location lookup.
The weather preview temperature is only an example. The paired TV fetches its own weather data.
Remove explicitly set Home choices as a group
If the Layout tab reports explicitly selected Home/TV preferences, choose “Keep this TV’s Home preferences” and confirm to remove those choices from the unsaved draft.
This tells a later layout apply to leave the TV’s current Home preferences alone. It does not undo a preference already changed on the TV and does not clear wallpaper, colors, shared box styling, apps, rows, or custom box styles.
Review suggested apps and the selected font
For app suggestions, expand “Advanced · package IDs and visibility” on Layout. The “Suggested app IDs” field accepts exact package IDs separated by commas. These suggestions are distinct from the installed-app snapshot and the Home utility-button choices.
For the typeface, use “Type on TV” in “Your screen’s look” on Layout. Choose a built-in font or uploaded TTF/OTF, or leave the selector at “Keep current TV font”. An uploaded font takes priority over a built-in choice.
Save and review the preference changes
Save with “Save website layout”, then on the currently hosted sideload APK 1.3.28 use Settings → “DEVICE SYNC” → “WEBSITE SYNC & BACKUP” → “CHECK STUDIO UPDATES” to review the saved layout. Read the confirmation carefully and choose “APPLY TO THIS TV” only if you want it; explicitly set preferences are included. Older installed sideload APK 1.3.27 uses “DOWNLOAD SAVED STUDIO LAYOUT”; the Play edition may differ.
Some Home changes need a newer TV app. If the TV does not support a selected control, update the TV app before expecting that preference to take effect.
- “Keep TV setting” means preserve the value currently on that TV. It does not mean restore the previous value, the Studio preview value, or a factory default.
- The website preview may illustrate controls that are currently hidden on the TV; it is not a live representation of that TV’s private or TV-local content.
